Meet the Team

Doria Wormbly | Founder

Doria Wormbly is a Higher Education professional turned Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging Grant Writer. Doria started her career in higher education in 2010 as a student worker in Admissions & Recruitment. During this time she discovered the joys of helping families navigate the higher education system and also the systemic barriers that prevented families of traditionally underserved communities from attending college. Doria knew she wanted to become part of the solution. While pursuing a M.Ed. In Student Affairs in Higher Education, Doria proactively worked to develop cross-cultural collaboration across Academic Advising, Retention, Diversity and Inclusion, Grant Management & Writing, and Financial Aid.

 Doria found creative ways to develop cross departmental collaboration in providing equitable student center services. In 2018, Doria began working with grants as a project manager and student advisor. In 2020, she aided in successfully writing the TRIO SSS 2020-2025 grant, which was awarded $1.4 million. In 2021, Doria transitioned into project management under the Title V: HSI grant. She collaboratively managed $9 million in creating student programming in alignment with grant objects, staff training & development, and developing internal & external partnerships.

 While working with this grant, Doria piloted the first Title V Financial Literacy workshop series that provided financial literacy resources for over 1,000 students. In 2022, Doria founded the Sailor Justice Project, which is a grant-writing business committed to utilizing grants to give BIPOC and women-owned businesses access to capacity-building funds. Doria’s goal utilize all her skills across student affairs, international education, and grant writing to provide systemic change with a social justice framework.

  • Giving you everything you need to get ready to apply! This includes, grant submission task lists, request for proposal review, grant funder meeting, building the collaboration team, and any other task to get your business grant ready!

  • Grant consultation meetings cover grant narrative writing needs & updates, budget development, collaboration meetings, and additional updates.

  • This is a great option for folks reapplying for grants. You may already have a grant and its time to reapply or you’ve applied before and didn’t get awarded. An overview provides a through read and edit of a previously existing grant narrative.

  • Have a budget for your grant, but it needs an update? An overview will provide an equity analysis and grant narrative congruency. This usually pairs will with the grant narrative overview to ensure both are in alignment.

  • Developing the heart of your grant’s proposal. This includes the first to final draft of the narrative, DEI analysis of language, service, & product inclusivity, and story development.

  • Now we gettin to the money! An itemized budget that includes how grant funds will be utilized. During our consultation meeting, we identify your priority purchase needs, equitably salary ranges, fringe benefits, overhead expenses, and any additional expenses.

  • Ok now we gotta explain the money! A brief summary of each line item identified in the Budget.

  • Ok so you’ve submitted your grant proposal. Congrants! But now your funder wants more information before they award the funds. We’ll develop a slide deck, additional verbiage answering funder questions, and other documents as requested by the funder.
